AI Scribe is an intelligent, AI-powered tool that integrates seamlessly into your WriteUpp site, capturing conversations and turning them into structured, professional clinical documentation. AI Scribe can be used when creating client notes, assessments and documents, helping you save time and reduce administrative workload.
Each user on your site can be assigned a 4 hour free trial of AI Scribe, allowing them to explore the feature before committing to a paid licence.
For new trial sites, an AI Scribe free trial is automatically assigned to your user. If not, or if your site was created earlier, this article explains how to assign the trial to your user(s).
Only users with the Site Administrator role can assign AI Scribe free trials.
How to assign the free trial
To assign a free trial to a user:
- Head to Integrations & Add Ons → AI Scribe
- Click Configure
- Enable AI Scribe using the switch, if needed
Warning: Enabling AI Scribe will upgrade your site to Redactor 3, which is required to use the feature. In WriteUpp, the Redactor is the text editor used when creating notes and documents. There are currently two versions: Redactor 2 and Redactor 3. - You’ll see a list of all users on your site
- Click the dropdown next to the user’s name
- Select 'Free Trial'
Once assigned, the user will immediately have full access to AI Scribe.
What the free trial includes
Users on the free trial can use AI Scribe across:
The trial includes 4 hours of recording time, which can be used across multiple sessions.
What happens when the trial ends?
Once the 4 hours have been used:
- The user will no longer have access to the AI Scribe feature for notes, documents or assessments
Note: If you go over the 4 hours during a recording session, you’ll still be able to finish the session and generate your note. However, once the session ends, the AI Scribe icon will no longer be available, and you won’t be able to start any new recordings unless a licence is assigned.
- To continue using AI Scribe, a paid licence must be assigned
Each AI Scribe licence costs £23.95 per month, and one licence is required for each user who needs access. For pricing in CAD and EUR, please refer to the Account page in your WriteUpp site or contact us via live chat.

If you’d like to continue using AI Scribe after the trial:
- Head to the Account tab in settings
- Add AI Scribe licences to your subscription
- Return to the AI Scribe configuration screen to assign them to users
